‘Cheer up, plebs’ Cameron’s message to those not feeling benefits of recovery

They’re laughing, why aren’t you?

David Cameron has vented his frustration over the majority of the country not feeling the benefits of economic recovery. In a Cabinet Office meeting whose transcripts were subsequently leaked to The Evening Harold the Prime Minister ranted against what he perceives as “profound ingratitude from the masses.”

“Honestly, it makes me want to give up,” he said, before quickly adding that he wouldn’t just as Michael Gove began punching the air. “Gidders has finally got his sums sort of right, the sun is shining and that World Cup thing that seems to keep a lot of the mob quiet is on but are they happy? Are they grateful? No.”

“Everywhere I go all I’m hearing is ‘NHS waiting list this’ and ‘the council’s closed all the libraries and day centres that’. Cheer up, plebs. You still have your pints and your bingo, don’t you?”

Despite his woes Cameron did become happier when the subject of finding a scapegoat was raised and had a positive beam on his face as he reverently murmured:

“Thank the Lord for immigration.”
