Seventeen year old porn-enthusiast, Simon Delaney says it’s a huge relief that new TV licencing laws will only affect BBC viewers.
Sitting on his sofa, cashmere sweater round his shoulders and lightweight cotton trousers round his ankles, Delaney says he doesn’t watch much television but will now pull out of watching any BBC channels.
“I’m upset the new rules apply straight away, though. I’d planned to watch Versailles in the long winter evenings and slow down some of the action scenes. But it was never going to be worth £145.50, when you consider they’re only acting. I could probably get one or two real woman to do it at that price. If I knew any.”
Fellow villager, Dennis Bush agrees. Manager of Harold Save & Prosper bank, he works all day, every day, week in week out, year after year with his wife of 30 years, head of Finance, Jean Bush.
“There’s not much mystery left” said Bush, glancing at the photo on the desk of him, Jean, and Jean’s mother on honeymoon in 1986 “so, as you may well imagine, these rules are unlikely to change my late-night viewing habits.”
